As far back as I can remember, I’d been concerned about how my dreams of a flying career would intersect with my desire for a family. The two seemed to always be in conflict in my mind. I knew others had done it successfully, but there was hardly a clear path forward. I had no idea what it would actually look like.

I founded Hera Aviation Group when I received a phone call that forever changed the course of my life. I might not have realized it right at that moment. But after I ended the call, a genesis for this organization, and a movement to cultivate change in my industry, had already left the gate.

I knew what I wanted to do at a very young age. My first memory of knowing in my heart that I would fly airplanes was in elementary school. I don’t know exactly how it started, whether it was a passing interest of my brothers’ that I latched onto at some point, but as soon as I became aware that being a pilot was a career choice, I was laser-focused. There was nothing else I wanted to be but a pilot.
